Our Solutions
We provide independent atmospheric monitoring services for agriculture, NBS project management and ecosystem research.
Our comprehensive service includes the planning, installation and operation of our state-of-the-art stations at your site. We continuously collect measurements from these systems and undertake all necessary data processing. This ensures that you receive high quality, detailed information to monitor and manage carbon and water flows at your site.
Agriculture
Monitoring carbon flows on your ranch or farm is increasingly important for supply chain emissions reporting, insetting and climate smart commodities. Carbon and water efficiency are also indicators of ecosystem health which can be managed to improve the long term financial sustainability of your farm.
Sub-daily measurements, representative of your field or farm, can give you valuable evidence for scope 3 emissions reporting. We can also work with you, and partners, to determine the impacts of management practice to help drive improvement.
We work with you to determine the best locations for our systems to be installed on your site, minimising impact on agricultural operations. We provide measures of carbon uptake, evapotranspiration and a range of relevant environmental indicators including weather conditions and soil moisture.
Nature based solutions MRV
High integrity carbon sequestration projects require independent, continuous and robust measurement of accrual of carbon in soil and aboveground biomass. Quanterra’s end-to-end service provides on-site measurement of Net Ecosystem Exchange, which can also then be attributed to individual pools using models.
High temporal granularity can give you confidence about the performance of your project, as well as providing rich information to drive optimisation of management practice for outcomes based projects.
We can work directly with project developers or with other MRV partners to integrate multiple types of measurement data for the highest integrity project monitoring.
Ecosystem research
Atmospheric flux monitoring has long been a cornerstone of ecosystem science, but has been too expensive and complex to use widely. We work with researchers across academia, public and private sector to deploy affordable, independent and managed flux monitoring. Example projects Quanterra is engaged with include:
- academic researchers studying specific ecosystem types using in-situ monitoring and replication;
- land managers comparing management practices in paired trials;
- commercial researchers establishing the efficacy of new products such as soil amendments;
- model developers aiming to integrate high temporal resolution monitoring data into ecosystem models.
